Trend Report: Q1 2019
Trend Report: Q2 2019
Dear Colleagues,
You have been identified as a stakeholder in the process of notifying US public health and public safety agencies, as well as other international entities, of the appearance of these novel substances to allow for appropriate public health policy development, preparedness, and responsiveness, and public safety actions through enforcement and interdiction.
The Center for Forensic Science Research and Education (CFSRE) at the Fredric Rieders Family Foundation has received support from the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) at the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) to develop trend reports in relation to novel psychoactive substance (NPS) use, with a specific focus on traditional and novel opioids. The goal of this program is to provide near real-time information regarding NPS trends, geographical distribution, and demographic information based on the re-analysis of forensic toxicology casework samples for research purposes. Information about this program and an archive of quarterly trend reports can be found on our website: www.npsdiscovery.org.
If you have questions about the trend reports attached, please contact NPS Discovery (npsdiscovery@frfoundation.org).
The opinions, findings, and conclusions or recommendations expressed in this publication, program, or exhibition are those of the author(s) and do not necessarily reflect those of the Department of Justice.
Thank you,
NPS Discovery
